Kumoricon 2012:
It's been nearly a year since I have updated this thing.
I decided I would reprise my Count of Monte Cristo cosplay this year. I haven't worn it since 2008.
I had wanted to do other cosplays like Kuroshitsuji's Sebastian, Vocaloid's Gakupo and Trinity Blood's Isaak & Abel, all of which spanned Kumoricon 2009-2011. I had fun doing those cosplays but honestly not as much fun as The Count. The cosplay itself is 'loud' and attention drawing, which I like. I feel like a celebrity when I wear it. I get stopped quite a bit to have my photos taken and I enjoy that, too.
As for recent news:
After nearly 12 years with Fred Meyer I was unfairly let-go from the Hillsboro store, which I transferred to back in late September 2011. I was unemployed from late November 2011 to March 2012 and then began working from April 16th to June 30th for Creative Channel Services. The issue there was they were never able to get approval with PDX for us to engage customers. So for 4 months we were just watching the movie kiosks and getting paid $15 an hour. I knew eventually CCS wouldn't want to pay us to do that so my Regional Manager had to pull the plug on hours completely, rendering me and the other two ambassadors as laid off until further notice. Fortunately I am still employed with CCS. So June 30th was the last day I worked. I then restarted my claim for Unemployment and used the rest of that up and am now on the EUC benefits (Emergency Unemployment) and seeking work elsewhere.
I also had lapband surgery on July 11th. I lost 7 pounds in a week during my pre-operative diet.
Since surgery as of July 25th I have lost a total of 16 pounds. I am hoping to be at least 40-50 pounds lighter by Kumoricon.
I'm also engaged and going to be married on Halloween.
